Song of the Day – ‘Si No Fueras Tu’ by Joe King

This song was a big hit in the 90′s.  It was a great blend of the ‘Salsa Romantica’, very popular in its day, and the infectious heavy salsa beat.  Of course, there was amazing trumpet and trombone play, which made for a very beautiful melody, but kept your feet moving with the salsa rhythm.

I know I’ve not posted a Song of the Day, but I had to do one today.  This song is absolutely an awesome salsa to listen to in the car, in the club, anywhere!  I love this song…

Song of the Day – “Tu Sonrisa” by Elvis Crespo

A little late on this one, but the song of the day is by Elvis Crespo, or as we Latinos call him Elvees Creespy.  We have not had a merengue for the song of the day, so I thought I would give this oldie some props.  Okay, so Crespo can’t really sing, in my opinion, but he writes some very good music and the musicians or on point.  This song has some rhythmz!  The beat is fast enough that it makes you wanna get down, but unlike the really fast “merengue ripiao’”, it’s slow enough to have some good melody and musicality.
